I've found some USB soundcards don't like being plugged into USB3 ports - no idea why.

Not directly related, but years ago, I had a Canon USB scanner that worked happily on USB2 but never appeared when connected to a "USB2" port controlled by a USB3 host controller.

My cheap USB sound card has happily moved from USB2 to USB3 without issues.
