I actually had an audio app running in wine "see" the wine-asio "driver". Now,
how do I couple this goodie with a physical device, alsa port or jack
client??

The app could "not start audio engine". No inputs or outpus were available to
its dialogs choices.

Check that the windows app is configured to use the same sample rate as jack.
