I am sending pcm data to my USB headset(#cat file.wav > /dev/audio), when I look the packets in the USB analyzer, this data is different that the wave file data.

Does Linux sound driver does data conversion from PCM to something else?

My understanding is pcm is raw data, it should send to USB headphone to convert D/A(DAC).

Could any one help on this information?
