The stuff BBC Production uses is a lot higher end than that designed and used by BBC News, which needs to be affordable by the Regions. (I believe Ingex is a Production product/software, while Raven is a News one (hardware/software.)) The news system is based on Commerically available IT systems (and even some domestic ones based on tested components) plus the Blackmagic cards and their software on top of Ubuntu (was 10.04, updated to 12.04 at some point in the last year...)
