So, what's a good simple USB MIDI interface for Linux?
E-Mu XMidi 1X1
Just plug it in, and you magically get another MIDI port. No drivers, no
firmware loader, no faffing about, and they cost less than 20 quid.
The long, dangling midi cables permanently attached bug me a bit. When
trying to use a joystick converter midi cable, those extra-long cables
always caused problems.
I'm considering the following:
Emu XMidi 2x2 (no dangling cables)
Eridol UM-2EX (attached USB cable, but has MIDI jacks)
M-Audio Midisport 1x1 (no dangling cables, but requires firmware loader)
Anyone here have an opinion on the Eridol/Roland adapter?
