Not sure if this is something only on my end, but I seem to have missed
some recent 'initial' message threads from LAU such as "New Software:
Tembro, All-in-one instrument (Sampler or Rompler)" [0], "[music] Pick
me up" [1], "Lost soundfont" [2]
Interestingly I did then correctly receive thread responses to these. I
did check my spam and no trace in there (and LAU is in theory
whitelisted since a while).
I'm wondering if this might be some setting on my side (including ML
settings, although I didn't change anything recently), some gmail quirk?
I use Thunderbird as a client but I don't think that is relevant (or is it)?
Any tip or help appreciated :-)

Hmm, I use Thunderbird, too, and haven't seen that. But my LAU email isn't my
Gmail account.
I *have* seen Gmail classify as spam *some* (not all) emails on a different list that goes
to my Gmail account. That list is hosted by...Google.
Maybe that's related?

I see the same or similar symptoms, using KMail here.
I did get the Tembro announcement, but not Fons' first answer to that, yet all the
rest of the thread arrived.
Since a month or more my spam filters seem to overreact on several mailing list mails,
mostly LAU and ardour-cvs commit messages but also some from the various opensuse lists
I'm on.
I've whitelisted all of them for spamassassin but still a lot of seemingly random
mails are marked spam and get filtered out.
Additionally I recently got excluded from both ardour-cvs and LAU temporarily, due to
massive mail bouncing on my side.
I had to reenable membership manually for both of them, and I have no clue why that
happens and how to fix that on my end.
I do see an increasing amount of other SPAM arriving here, lately, so that might be
related?
Being pretty clueless I'd also be grateful for any hint on what to do to address
this.

In the long run, the sensible solution would probably be to move away
from dubious proprietary email providers like Gmail (and Microsoft, etc)
to someone a bit more trustworthy, like Posteo.de or RiseUp or (if you
want to use your own domain) perhaps Migadu.com or Mailbox.org .

cc LAU email address into a 'sub-directory' and that is working on
(after) email which is incoming (including e.g. this one, which did come
in...)

It is up-to-date, I'm not sure about bugs, but this is happening only
with certain LAU mailing list setting so I'd be cautious in 'blaming' a
thunderbird bug, also because these aren't reaching the mailbox (e.g. in
the gmail web client)

In principle that shouldn't cause deletions. Investigate other
potential causes first.

This is probably what happens. Mailman, the mailing list software
linuxaudio.org uses, changes the content of all mails passing through.
This causes the DKIM signature to become invalid and it seems like Gmail
doesn't like that. There are some options to prevent this from happening
with the current version of Mailman we're using but basically the only
viable one would be the following:
C. Replace From: address and forward replies
Change the RFC5322.From address to a unique per-author
address within the mailing list's domain.
user(a)example.com => unique-address(a)mailinglistdomain.com
Add DKIM signature using the mailing list's domain
If replies are sent to the unique address, forward them to
the associated message author.

This would be quite an administrative burden, unless I could automate
this in some way. If Mailman 3 can deal with this issue then that could
be an option too. I'm open to any suggestions on this one. Contacting me
off list about this issue is no problem, maybe even preferable, we want
to talk Linux and audio, not mail issues right?
