make[2]: *** No rule to make target `scale-points.txt', needed by
`swh-scales.rdf'. Stop.

Sorry for not checking, but I guess it could be good for the record (and
people googling for it) to ask here..
The macro for dealing denormals that I have is:
#define undenormalise(sample) if(((*(unsigned int*)&sample)&0x7f800000)==0)
sample=0.0f
however gcc 3.3 and 3.4 seem to produce an undesired effect
when the optimizer is turned on, rendering this macro unusable..
this breaks freeverb and a few other stuff I have that uses it.
How was/is this fixed properly?

A lot of people mailed me about a missing file (scale-points.txt,
attached), it should be there, but I'm not sure why its needed cos the
file that is built from it is in hte tarball.
Anyway, I've attached it.

It violates C99's pointer aliasing rules. I've posed a C99 friendly
version later in the thread.
Another point of differentiation between denomal hacks is tht this one
doesnt even analyse the potential denomal as a float, so you miss one
denomal operation that can occur with cleaner methods.

Can you check to see if swh-scales.rdf was in the tarball? It should have
bbbeen, so the .txt file wasn't neccesary, but obviously it should have
been included anyway.

It was in the tarball but it didn't work. After adding the .txt file I
get:

./txt2scale.pl scale-points.txt > swh-scales.rdf
/bin/sh: line 1: ./txt2scale.pl: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [swh-scales.rdf] Error 127
The .pl file is missing from the tarball. The only .pl file in the
metadata directory is lxml2rdf.pl.

Oops. Sorry guys. Looks like I shouldn't have done a release when it wasn't
possible for me to test it :(

On a related note, if theres anyone who has any idea how to get recent
auto* to generate a clean Makefile and configure script to build LADSPA
.so files I'd really like to hear. My old hack is breaking on 1.8.3, and
it worked on older versions :(
The problem is that its ignoring too much of my redefined behaviour for
building *.c and *.o files when I put the .so files in pkgbin_PROGRAMS.
