Hi again
Today ardour2 started crashing when I add a delay plugin. I think I
tried all delay plugins in my favorites which at least includes "L/C/R
delay", "Delayorama", "Tape delay simulation".
Other plugins work fine, including "sc4", "triple band parametric with
shelves", "Multivoice chorus".
Loading sessions that uses these problematic plugins crashes audour on load.
Being a very casual ardour2 user, I hope someone here can give me
suggestions on what to try...
NB: ArchLinux, 3.0-rt kernel, ardour 2.8.12

Have you tried running Ardour from the command line to see if a useful
error message is generated?

The only new message that appears when I insert the crashing plugin is
"Segmentation fault". Here's the complete terminal on loading a crashing
project containing a delay plugin:

I'm running the same Arch/Ardour but with the mainline kernel, no
problems here it seems. What's your processor type? Are you able to
try the mainline kernel easily?

Sure. Just tried loading the delay-crashes-ardour-on-load project with
3.3.8-1-ARCH, same result...

Just did a complete update, kernel 3.3.8-1, ardour 2.8.12, and
inserted all three delay plugins you mentioned in the post that
started this thread - no problems.
Did you update the plugins recently ? If yes, try removing them.
A missing plugin won't crash Ardour, a faulty one may.

Thanks, very clever suggestion.
Seems there were problems with some lv2 plugins. I seem to have been
using both ladspa and lv2 versions of plugins, not sure if that was the
problem, in any case, the project opens again, just have to replace the
missing plugins...
