Thanks for putting in all the effort with LADSPA! I am, through Om, also
a big user.

I'll go very simple and broad here and suggest 'APA', standing for
'Audio Plugin Architecture'.

+ Aypeeay has a nice sound to it
+ The name is forwards compatible with being ported to Windows, Mac,
  or even becoming a de-facto or ISO standard for cross-platform
  audio processing.
+ The name does not cause brain-overload
+ The name sounds technical enough to be recognized as such by ordinary
  users but is simple enough to be used in communication
+ It can be typed with alternating hands which makes typing it often
  faster
+ It is fairly obvious how to pronounce it


- There might be the occasional joke about the American
  Psychological Association, the American Philosophical Association, or
  the American Psychiatrical Association
- There are several European companies using the acronym as their name
