    I've got an HHB Radius 3 tube compressor and it makes a huge
difference in acoustic guitar.  Depending on how you set it, it doesn't
take the dynamics out (you can always smash it if you want to ;-)  The
guitar tracks sound less harsh when I use a little compression.  The
idea that any compression will completely destroy dynamics is unfounded.
