I'm not sure about the Maya, but it seems to be similar to the Terratec
Aureon USB which works well on my box (except that it is a low end card
and produces some noise). No prob with ALSA or JACK.
BTW: I load snd_usb_audio using the following options:
modprobe snd-usb-audio nrpacks=1
but this should have nothing to do with the ALSA errors.
Another guess: Please ensure you have switched off audio support in the
usb drivers section of your kernel. This is the deprecated OSS driver
which may conflict with the snd_usb_audio driver in the sound section
of the kernel config.
