Ok have just tried using the midi gameport on the builtin soundcard,
and this works fine!
No hard freezes or anything.
But even now if i try and select that other midiport with qjackctl, it
gives me a hard lock.

Not that i mind too much now though, as i have working midi in and out.
Been sat playing on Zyn et al for most of this afternoon...
