I'm a Debian user, and a big fan of it's package management system.
However, it's probably not the best possible package management system out
of the set of all possible package management systems, in the same way
that socio-capitalist democracies are not the best possible political
systems out of the set of all possible political systems. As such,
it's great to have alternatives and people trying different ways of
doing things so that the software can continue to evolve.

In short, it's easy to remember root's password. It's also easier to
distribute your software using 0install.net than it is to get it into
Debian[1].

Best,

Chris.

1. Depending who you are and how well known your software is.
