hallo kjetil, i just compiled 0.9.8.3 and it looks very good here!

but look, about a year ago, you told me the hint/workaround for snd-ls 
not to write the 'peaks' and the 'snd-eval-c-cache' directories into my 
home directory, but i cannot find this hint anymore. are you able to 
remember the hint and help me out one more time with this?
