I agree we should definitely resist.

other non-profit (dis)organizations like dyne.org could even suffer
major problems, not even on principle, since there is no funding
whatsoever. this is about freedom to code: if you do something based on
GNU/Linux as the majority of free software is today, then of course you
should mention the technology it is based on, then you are forced by
linuxmark to pay them - then there is no more free software.

i think we should state our thoughts, Cc: them to Linus and eventually
get prepared to run a campaign about it - hopefully the step of shouting
loud won't be needed.

we still need to figure out what is going to happen in EU with SW
patents, and now - even being non-profit - we get already harrassed by
some US based trademark on Linux ...  i smell quite some work for
activists and lawyers here.
