If i got it right, this is the starting point of the hole discussion.
And nearly instantly the discussion turned into one about money and how
to get it. Is this really the point here?

In general i think before someone ask how to get money, there should be
a plan how to spend money. Raising millions of $ is pretty nice, but
wasting it by not knowing how to spend it in a good way seems a little
bit useless.

So it might be an good idea to first think about if there is something
the community or linux audio world is missing, something we really need
and in the next step to think about if its necessary to raise money for
it. I dont know much about the efforts in the past to raise money for a
project and its success, but ardour seems to be able to fund its
development on his own.

Maybe its an good idea to discuss this on the next LAC?
