Well, now I've rearranged the code a bit, and the delays are not 
independent "objects" (actually an array of structs and some inline 
code), so each one can minimize it's buffer size. Still 32 bit 
buffers, but I got it to play real time with 80 delay lines. Sounds 
pretty nice, even on snares and impulses - and I haven't even tried 
non-even delay time distributions yet.

Brute force rules! ;-)
