The model is verbally described in a file 'proposal.html' inside 
http://swiki.hfbk-hamburg.de:8888/MusicTechnology/uploads/786/spec-slices-0_1.zip (together with 
some schematic drawing). So this could be used to implement it with other syntaxes than XML, too.

If you want to do this it's nice - please let me know if you do so. But I don't have plans to 
further work on this now.
