Art -

I'm a bad influence...but you can also edit the
makefile to just AVOID compiling with the tcl/tk stuff
(just delete the "-ltcl -ltk").  It's a little
kludgie, but many users suppress the tcl/tk graphical
stuff with a flag anyways (-d).
