 Most will let you define an isa card though. Most of the config's going
to be on the linux side unless things have changed a lot in the past few
years. {or your motherboard doesn't offer the option.}

 Isa's just a massive pain and you need very exact specs regarding the
card and where it's at... I don't know why functionality would be
diminished {then again... I'm not really an expert on newer linux sound
stuff. {old for that matter}} I did get my pas16 to install in about 5
minutes on my 486/25 several years ago. OSS setup is really simple for
ISA. As far as I know there's nothing directx-like about linux.

 Is there some sort of bridge from oss to alsa that can give you
additional software functionality?
