One USB (1.x) host can do 1.5 MBytes/s. This is enough for full-duplex
stereo with 24 bits at 96 kHz (1.2 MB/s), or four channels at 48 kHz.
The Maya 5.1 has 6 output channels, but I guess those can be used only
when outputting an AC3 stream (and the ALSA driver currently doesn't
support this).
