no, vkeybd has its own list of patches in
/usr/share/vkeybd/vkeybd.list.

you can create a patch list via sftovkb program. save it as
~/.vkeybd.list, so that vkeybd will read at the next time.
% sftovkb rhodes.sf2 > ~/.vkeybd.list
