I meant that conventionally, mastering (the final processing on the 
audio before it gets made into a CD or whatever) is done on a stereo 
recording, not a multitrack. Steve doesn't want to leave it at only 
two tracks though, and is set to shake up the cosy world of mastering 
engineers :)

Ardour can do multitracking of course, but I'm not the best person to 
ask about it...
