I don't think he was referring to multiple monitors, just virtual
desktops that many window managers make available.

The window manager is often responsible for storing and automatically
restoring this info for specific windows of apps, and each
one handles it differently.  I don't know how the default KDE WM
handles this, but that is the place to look.  Sometimes the WM
might have an option in the window popup menu for remembering
or storing location (including desktop).
