MusE does have a setting for XG (Settings->Midi Ports/Soft Synths->(the 
instrument column), though as I don't have any XG equipment I don't know if 
it works correctly (it should).

Sorry, I'm midi illiterate. What does 120/q mean?
If you mean changing tempo this is in the transport window:

For the record, qjackctl lists the alsa-sequencer midi-ports, they are not 
anything that is specific to qjackctl. Setup a midi device in the Midi 
Ports/Soft Synths dialog described above and then select this as output 
device for your midi track. Then you should be off! :-)
