Kernel is Planet CCRMA's 2.4.26-ll, which I believe does not have 
capabilities enabled. Corrections welcome. :)

All other devices work fine, including audio from the machine's CS4232 
(==NM256). Permissions are all correct through the /dev/snd tree.
