[LAU] linux audio ready in 5 minutes - using which distro and interface?

Recording without your computer and without hard-disk made easy: Tape, DAT, 
CD-Recorder, etc...

To be honest I don't think that this will ever be possible. There are too much 
things that can and should be optimized to do hd-recording. That is why 
manufactures don't allow you to fuzz with their hardware, its tuned and they 
don't want to support you when you changed it.
And that is why this list exists (among other reasons): To give people hints 
and help on how to tune your system for hd-recording.

Another reason why these live-distros will fail definitely: If its not your 
computer or only a windows-computer you boot with the live-cd, it won't have 
enough free diskspace to do recordings. If it has (and if there is already a 
linux installed) why boot a live-cd?

It could work for playing synths, when you don't promise low-latency for 
everybody, but for hd-recording its not working.

Just my two cents of opinion,
