It may not even be a cable, just a piece of wire to
avoid the top part falling back when it is opened.

If you have not already discovered this: at the bottom
of the two side panels there are two deep holes. Using
a long cross screwdriver you can remove the four screws
hiding in them. Then the top part of the keyboard can
be opened from the front.
