[LAU] looking for alternatives to ac3jack, because it just won't build

Yeah, I've used mencoder to make an ac3 after the fact; but what I'm looking
for is something that can encode to ac3 in realtime, because I need to mix
and monitor as I'm mixing.  Can mencoder do realtime?
