There are ffado/freebob users running three firepod parallel. But that is 
probably not the maximum.
They have to be synced either by spdif or "SYT match", the later being a 
firewire feature not requiring extra cables. The setting of the sync-source is 
to be done in ffado-mixer by hand, they won't auto-sync.
