[LAU] Audacity: not good for making loops

It's popularity on the web is perhaps due to it being cross-platform???

It's main useful feature for me is the ability to edit samples directly, 
drawing with a mouse, so I keep it around for occasional use - any 
better suggestions for direct sample editing?
