What version's of ffado and ardour?  I used to have that trouble with 
Ardour.  But, that was way back in the 0.9something era.  It hasn't 
been a problem for years now.  Then again, I'm not using ffado.  If 
you can reliably repeat the crash, then you should submit bug reports.
