because paulstretch does not have an ALSA output.

portaudio to ALSA (or pulseaudio or JACK) should work though, but may
require additional setup. Here (debian/squeeze) it (kind of [1]) works
with alsa-plug, but I prefer the native JACK port of course..

yeah, it's amazing.

[1] there's no resampling and sometimes choppy playback with portaudio.
