IMHO this is not the case. KXStudio is quantity over quality. I'd never
use it in a serious pro audio set-up, its continuity cannot be
guaranteed and the chance of packages breaking your set up is
significant. No offence towards the maintainer, he's a good guy, very
enthusiastic, but in his enthusiasm he sometimes oversees the necessity
of some good old quality control.
As a beginner I'd go for AV Linux or if you like Ubuntu, go Tango
Studio. I myself use plain Ubuntu. Mainly because of the PPA's. The day
Debian will have PPA's I'll switch.
