The trick may be to disable sending note off events, or keeping note off 
events but increasing the "Note duration" setting above the default 10 ticks. 
Both settings are on menu "Settings"->"Configure KMetronome", or using the 
"Settings" button on the main window. 

Please try a "modern" KMetronome release, latest is 0.10.0 published on 
2010-06-06.

Thanks Jostein, but I think there is a misunderstanding here. KMetronome only 
sends MIDI events, it doesn't provide wave forms by itself. It depends on your 
MIDI synthesizer (that may be QSynth/FluidSynth, of course).
