To me advertising is a strong signal, that the product is junk.
Why else would one have to spam me with that ?

Advertising is a further _ misconception _ of the commercial world.

Companies should rather spend their money
by supporting things which are _ valuable _  to mankind
or single person.

Donate wikipedia, sponsor open software,
support development of poorer countries, ....
Possibilities are endless.
