[LAU] my computer and screen reeder orca are extreemily slow when jack audio is in use any idea what the problem could be?

I doubt memory lock is to blame. I recommend you use your built-in
soundcard for speech synth purposes and your external soundcard for
audio work and jack, this will simplify matters greatly.
