Please install it again and change /etc/laptop-mode/conf.d/usb-autosuspend.conf
so that your keyboard doesn't get autosuspended.

If the default isn't correct, you should file a bug with laptop-mode-tools.
(Most USB MIDI and many USB audio devices will break when autosuspended.)
