I would also agree that a lot of modern technology is beginning to invade
our privacy. I just think that alarmist slogans of us versus them is
unhelpful. We have to rationally define the problem and then proceed to
rationally solve it. Running around with "don't use Windows, credit cards
and iPhones are evil" is of no help. It just alienates the public and
creates an impression that all concerned parties are just lunatics and
suffer from paranoia. In reality, the challenge of privacy vs big data is
very serious.
