If the input current should drop under too much load, you probably would
notice more bad effects, than just a quieter headphone output. The
culprit should be the headphone's impedance, but it's strange, since the
AKG K702 seems to have a low impedance and it should be a high impedance that should result in quieter headphone output. However, comparing the speaker's outputs and headphone's output loudness is insignificant, since external amplifiers are involved when using speakers.
