Although I am rarely a supporter of extreme measures, the following article

Allow me to reverberate everyone else's compliments. Many thanks Sebastian
for organizing this as well as for an opportunity to present on behalf of
Linuxaudio.org. It has been indeed a great pleasure seeing old friends and
meeting new faces. Let's make sure to keep in touch and hopefully
follow-through at least on some of the great ideas suggested below.
P.S. I am forwarding this to the consortium list. Hope no one minds :-)
Best wishes,

We'll try to make sure that a member of linuxaudio.org can be there.
Cheers!
Daniel
[1]Linux AV is my blog on the multimedia experience using GNU/Linux
and free software. Once I was listed in the [2]Linuxaudio.org members
section, but my link was erased probably because I stopped the
blogging activity. The blog is back since weeks ago, and AFAIK is the
only blog in spanish devoted entirely to Linux audio and video work.
1. http://linuxav.blogspot.com
2. http://linuxaudio.org/members
I'd be glad and honoured if the link to my site was recovered there.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the tip - please send me the announcement when it's
available. Our remit at linuxaudio.org actually extends beyond the
desktop and what is normally considered as 'consumer' audio, because we
have a focus on the more demanding professional audio and broadcast
markets. Of course, there is some overlap, because so much production
work is done on PC-like systems nowadays.

I've signed up for LF Site Access, if that's the same thing - username
danieljames.

Thanks, but we have a server provided by Virginia Tech. I notice the
Foundation has a Sound and Multimedia workgroup with a page at
https://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/Linux_Sound_and_Multimedia - perhaps
we can help with that workgroup.
Cheers!

That would be great, thanks! I am cc'ing this reply to our consortium
mailing list, to keep everyone at linuxaudio.org in the loop.
Cheers!

Hello world,
A first edition of the LAC2009 website is now
on line at
http://lac2009.linuxaudio.org
Apart from the initial announcement you'll
find there the calls for papers and music,
and some related documents.
More information will be added in the coming
weeks.
The site is (surprise !) hosted by linuxaudio.org,
site administrator is Robin Gareus, with design
and layout by Christoph Haag.
For the paper submission and review we are again
using openconf, with Frank Neumann at the controls.
Ciao,

Lascia la spina, cogli la rosa.
Hi,
It's been a while since we did some status update. The project is running well
though my own time frame is extremely tight in the last an the coming weeks. We
had some nice summer time in Slovenia, details about this on out Wiki:
http://canorus.org
In October I made some progress on the current export / printing to PDF
issues I encountered. Also many other things are being improved for the
coming release. Our release plan is for early 2009 thereby skipping version
0.6 the current development. My hope is that we can release some kind of
alpha/beta in november.
To sum up the features we work currently on (or are already finished):
- Printing (via SVG currently using lilypond backend, poppler is too much
troublesome in this regard)
- Print preview (PDF via SVG lilypond backend)
- Midi input (note entry via midi keyboard)
- Export to PDF and SVG
- Transposition
- Dialog for keyboard settings (both midi and normal keyboard are planned)
- Settings for printing and preview
- new resourse subsystem so resources (images/sound) can be added to a score
document
- finally we have tuplet/triplet support!
- PPA Interface (for CLI and (python) plugins) is making progress
On the bad side: Ruby support is currently broken
A beta version will surely have printing support in a simple way but the
settings are something I will start working on after that first.
Any question/help offers (we still search for active developers especially
on non-Linux platforms like Mac or BSD) are welcome! Please contact as on
our Canorus development mailing list if you are interested.
Kind regards,
Reinhard Katzmann
