The LilyPond score engine seeks to revive the beuty and aesthetics of
traditonally handengraved music. It is supported directly by graphical
composition packages such as NoteEdit, Rosegarden and Denemo, but also
has an easy to type, well documented, text based file format (with Emacs
and Vim support) as well as a set of import filters including abc, etf
(Finale) and MIDI.
