Yeah, that's pretty much a completely different beast.  But it would be
silly to make a specific module for just one sound set, that's why we
have gigasampler, soundfonts, etc.

What I think you need is for linuxsampler to become a usable gigasampler
player (it kinda works a little bit sometimes right now) - there's some
disturbingly nice gigasampler libraries out there.
