Greetings all, Do we have list of the material which will be at Sound Expo? There was this discussion about the power supply 2 weeks ago, but I didn't find a complete list of the material. I personally plan to bring a PC laptop + an RME Hamerfall, but I won't be able to bring some monitors. Will we have mixer + monitors? I will also bring a pair of headphones. I can also manage to bring a small MIDI keyboard (2 octaves + knobs) but if somebody else already bring one it is maybe enough (and I won't need to bring it in the plane). About the demos, is there a global strategie? Will we run one computer with the differents software installed on it, or do we run several computers to show each software (our AGNULA case is slightly different as we don't show a specific software but a global distribution). The second solution raise the problem of space, power supply, acoustic level and/or confusion. Let me know if all of this has already been discuted. best, damien

Gatwick is quite far to the south of the city and Wembley is in the north-west. PR Newswire

I get press releases and other news sent to me every day, thanks to an agreement my employer has with Factiva, who get their press releases from PR Newswire (http://www.prnewswire.com/). This includes plenty of Linux news, big and small, so I was thinking that LinuxAudio could take advantage of this to get their important news out, e.g. the Sounds Expo visit next week. The good news is that any individual or organization can register with them and distribute their press releases globally: the bad news is that it costs $125 a year to do so. T-shirts

Hi all. I seem to remember someone proposed to wear some kind on standardized T-Shirts at the GNU/Linux Audio Centre (Sounds Expo 2004). Did you reach any definitive conclusion on it? We are currently evaluating some options for the AGNULA T-Shirts and caps, and if we manage to have it I'd like to ask Damien if he could wear it during the event. bye, andrea

Something strange happened...

So I'm in my local music shop, which mostly sells guitars and amps and so on. I ask if they would like to have some Sounds Expo flyers on the counter, and mention that I'm going to be there myself on one of the stands (by way of explanation). The shop assistant asks which stand, I say the GNU/Linux Audio Centre. The shop assistant replies 'I'll come to see that - I'm writing some plugins for Brahms'. Now that has never happened to me in a music shop before. Or anywhere outside a Linux event, come to think of it. I see that as a positive sign! Cheers Daniel
