"99" is what I actually use. IIRC some people go below "99" to avoid

unresponsive GUI. I never experienced such an issue, even with oldish
machines. FWIW you only need one of those files, but you could keep
both files, it doesn't matter.

/etc/security/limits.conf

/etc/security/limits.d/audio.conf
are important, too.
I've set the following to both:
@audio - rtprio 95
@audio - memlock unlimited
@audio - nice -19 The user 'odroid' is in the audio group and
I've answered yes when
installing jack about the real-time priority.
