What's the output of

Hi,
https://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty-updates/linux-lowlatency is only
available for amd64 and i386 architecture, so ensure that you boot a
default kernel with "threadirqs".
I don't now how to edit the config for the config of GRUB2, but for
syslinux the one and only config would look similar to
[rocketmouse@archlinux ~]$ grep "LABEL Threadirqs" -A4
/boot/syslinux/syslinux.cfg
LABEL Threadirqs
MENU LABEL Arch Linux ^threadirqs
LINUX ../vmlinuz-linux
APPEND root=LABEL=archlinux ro threadirqs
INITRD ../initramfs-linux.img
Install
https://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/rtirq-init and edit
/etc/default/rtirq .
Reboot and run
/etc/init.d/rtirq status
this might show if additional tuning might help, e.g. unbinding devices.
Regards,
Ralf
