Do you think the windows/pulseaudio/osx peple don't know what they are
doing? Do you think Fons' zita-mu1 program is not an improvement?
It is NOT an improvement. It is an application which you can use
if and when you need the functionality. It can (and probably will) be
modified or extended as required without interfering with the work of the
Jack developers, and without them interfering with
mine.
Even if you would move all the DSP operations in zita-mu1 into
Jack (switching, gain ctl, crostalk filters, RMS, peak and
correlation detectors), you'd still need a separate program to provide the
GUI. So nothing would be gained by doing
that, it would just complicate both maintenance and use.
Some success in compiling zita-mu1, it's a totally recommendable
"master"
switch/analyser/ for jack! Such tools do add value to the jack ecosystem
in a non-linear way, it's creating freedom. Thanks Fons!
