[ANN] Vee One Suite 0.9.13 - A QStuff* Spring'20 Release batch #2

Greetings once more, The 'Vee One Suite' of so called 'old-school' software instruments, synthv1 [1] as a polyphonic subtractive synthesizer, samplv1 [2] a polyphonic sampler synthesizer, drumkv1 [3] as yet another drum-kit sampler and padthv1 [4] as a polyphonic additive synthesizer, are all being released now for the second 'QStuff*' Spring'20 batch of the (quarantine) season. All still available in dual form deliveries: - a pure stand-alone JACK client with JACK-session [5], NSM (Non Session management [6]) and both JACK MIDI and ALSA MIDI [7] input support; - a LV2 instrument plug-in [8]. Not much of a ravishing change-log, just on the brink of utterly boring maintenance stuff: - Always keep the current sample loop-cycle on note-off, while entering a DCA Release stage. (applies to samplv1 [2] only) - Maximum pitch-bend range has been expanded to 0..400%, allegedly to support some PME driven instruments. - Make man page compression reproducible (after request by Jelle van der Waa, thanks). - Fixed crash when showing the tooltip of a negative note number that results from dragging over and beyond the left edge of the virtual piano keyboard. - Remove -v (verbose) flag from 'strip' post-link command. - Fixed CMake build by adding missing Custom Color Theme (palette) form file (.ui). - Bumped copyright headers into the New Year (2020). update of libzita-resampler

Hello all, Release 1.8.0 of the zita-resampler library is now available at <http://kokkinizita.linuxaudio.org/linuxaudio/downloads> * Both the Resampler and VResampler classes can now be compiled to use SSE2 intrinsics. This at least doubles the speed, and is enabled in the supplied Makefile. * Some new documented test programs, also showing how to use the two classes. * Some (minor) bugfixes. This should be a drop-in replacement for 1.6.2, which will remain available for some time in case there are any problems. Enjoy, and best wishes for the next solar orbit ! -- FA

A question to plugin host devs

Hello all, I wonder what are the pros and cons of using RTLD_NODELETE as a flag to dlopen() and call dlclose () as soon as the required symbols are loaded. The alternative is to leave all shared object handles open until the host terminates. What are you doing in your plugin host (and why) ? TIA, -- FA

Season greetings, a third and last time, Qtractor 0.9.19 (winter'20) is released! Change-log: - Session directory auto-name option added to the session properties dialog, as convenience. - Loading and saving a LV2 plugin's state has been vastly improved. IMPORTANT CAVEAT: From this moment onwards, when loading any newer saved sessions into older versions of the program, all LV2 plugins won't get their state restored correctly. - Track colors saturation introduced as yet another eye-candy option (cf. View/Options.../Display/Track color saturation) - Fixed VST3 number of channels query/report. - Fixed immediate crash when loading untitled or unnamed Instrument Definitions files (*.ins): base file-name is now taken as default instrument definition name or title. - Tempo (BPM) entry may now be specified with arbitrary precision, to at most 3 decimal positions in fractional part, while integer whole values are displayed with no decimal point. - Added option to keep MIDI clip editor windows (aka. piano-roll) always on top of the main window (cf. View/Options.../General/Keep editor windows always on top). - MIDI clip editor status-bar labels are not stretched to whole text size anymore, most specially for the current file complete path.
