of host, for 'native' Linux plugins, not windows dlls.

Never mind. Just got "juced" and it
includes jost, which builds fine.
Please note that JOST hosts native Linux VST plugins, i.e. foo.so, not
foo.dll. AFAIK there is no mechanism in JOST that accommodates Windows
VST DLLs.
It's a great system though. The pizmidi plugins alone are worth the
installation:
