Well, ALSA has OSS compatibility, and
4front-tech.com will still be
selling their for-money OSS drivers (for a number of platforms, not
just Linux).
So saying that OSS will disappear after the release of kernel 2.6 is a
bit premature. Especially since some of the for-money OSS drivers are
still much better than the ALSA drivers (just my experience, YMMV).
